Late weekend post

This is my failed attempt at quilting a mug rug.  I have never actually made a quilt so I figured I would start off small with a festive Halloween mug rug.  It looks like this process is going to be a lot of trial and error.  The white strips were cut too short, they should have extended past the dark grey strips so I would have enough fabric to be able to bind the whole thing without covering up the pattern.  On the bright side I didn't spend all the time embroidering the ghost onto the black linen yet, it could have been much worse.  I guess it is back to the cutting board.

All was not a loss this weekend.  Sunday was just perfect weather wise, not too hot and not too cold.  Perfect for yard work and BBQ.  Unfortunately, we forgot about the yard but the BBQ was unforgettable.

How was everyone else's weekend?  Good I hope, I slacked off and have lots of blog reading to catch up on.  I'm too nosey to let it go.

  2. quilts are sometimes harder than they at first seem, my Mum used to do a lot of quilting and I'm hoping to get my hands on her quilting fabric stash! So perhaps I'll give it a go too.
Ribs look good! Weekend was busy, but had a lovely lazy Sunday with Hubby, got to have at least one rest day! x
