An extra long weekend in review

Marley and I hung out on the porch a lot and enjoyed the breeze and warm Florida weather.
This is one of our neighbors cats.  He like to hang out under or on top of my car.  We don't know his name but we call him Gandolf the grey, if you're a nerd you will know the reference.
Gardening is my new obsession.  These two little cherry tomatoes are my very first "ripe" things so far.  At least I think they are ripe, I can't figure out if they are actually ready for picking.
These are regular red tomatoes, they still have a lot of growing to do.
Japanese eggplant, can't wait to harvest these and roast them.
That right there is the teeniest bell pepper starting to form.  I found 3 more buds today.
My onions are doing amazing.  I need to find out if I can cup the tops to use without killing the onion.
These containers have been filled with soil and seeds.  I hope they start to germinate soon.  There is a mixture of lettuces and herbs for cooking.
I have always been one of those people that always killed plants.  I am truly amazed at how well everything is going so far.

How was your weekend?  Did you get an extra day off?  I forgot how nice it felt not to work :)

  7. Wow! I am so jealous...I wish I had a green thumb like you. I would love to grow veggies and my own food. I bet it's so nice that you can just go to your garden and get food instead of having to go to the store.

I think your blog is lovely and thank you so much for your sweet comment. It really made my day and I hope to get to know you better by following your blog as well!

    Best,
    Michele

  9. Color me impressed! We're planning on starting a garden when we buy a house - we're not settling on a house that has a small yard, we want veggies galore!

  10. Your garden is looking really good! I am such a bad gardener - I hadn't watered my succulents for 9 months!!! Somehow they survived it though and are now looking good again.
