The Handwriting game

I was tagged by Becky in the handwriting game.  There was so much pressure to write neat after her comment too but it is late and I'm just too tired.  This is what you get:

1. What is your name / blogger name?
Olivia Ortiz.  Olivia or just O. for short
2. What is your blog URL?
3. Write "The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog"
4. Write Your Favorite Quote
"You can't fall off the floor"
5. What is your favorite song?
"I love you don't ever (FBOMB here) question that.  By the way I swear like a dirty sailor.
6. What is your favorite music right now?
Depends on the time and place
7. Is there anything else you would like to add about your handwriting?
I have about a dozen different handwriting styles that look nothing like each other.  I am dead serious when I say I was made to copy the encyclopedia for hours as punishment.  I was an only child raised by a single military parent, there was nothing for me to do but get in trouble- a lot of it!  Changes in writing style was a way to keep things interesting when I was writing into the 3 hour.
8. Choose Thee Bloggers to follow suit.

There are so many ways to connect with people these days.  It just seems so overwhelming to keep up with it all.  Phone, Email, Texting, Twitter, Facebook, Blogging, Instagram, Flickr, you could go on forever.
I’m always curious to know how people are connecting and how they seem to manage it all so effortlessly.  I never seem to be able to keep up with it all, something always seems to get neglected.

I hate talking on the phone so I try and keep that to a bare minimum.
Emails always seem to get backed up because of volume.  {secretlylovespink at gmail com}
Tweeting for me is always so hit or miss, I try but if you’re not on top of it there are so many tweets I never have a chance to read.  {olivialovespink}
On the other hand I love texting, so easy, so quick, and convenient.  If you have my number, text me I LOVE them. {#}
Facebook…I try and stay away from as much as possible.  I only use it to see what old friends that live so far away are up to. {it's pretty much on lock down}
Instant messengers, YES.  It’s pretty much like texting in my opinion and I enjoy chatting it up. {aim and google talk, both under secretlylovespink, I hate that you have to enter the entire email addy including the for aim these days}
If you have an iphone, Instagram (free app) is a fun way to see your friends photos and make comments. {oliveoh}
Did I miss anything?  How are all you connecting these days?

hello again

It's been a while I know.  It's just that nothing all that interesting has been going on lately and I have been too lazy to take photos.  I've also been working 6-7 days a week for a while now and the amount of free time is slim to none.  What little time I do have is spent catching up on errands.

I did finish my tv console, all it needs is a coat of paint.  Unfortunately within hours of setting this all up my tv decided to die on me.  It turns on but all you get is a dark grey screen which is a pain in the ass since it is practically brand new.  I called Samsung and they are suppose to be sending someone out to look at it then determine what needs to be done.

  I restocked on yarn so I could finish this blanket sometime soon.

 The baby blanket I have been working on is nearly complete and will be a gift for someone who is having a girl this summer.  I am kind of worried it is too thick and would be too hot for a baby born during a Florida summer.

 Poor little Marley has allergies and has been a little itchy.  I am hoping all this pollen goes away soon so she can go out and play more.  It is a shame to have to stay inside when the days are getting longer and the weather is just perfect.

Trying to pick out new colors for my next blanket/afghan.  I originally had a grey and yellow theme in mind but somehow the aqua found its way into the mix.  I am not sure which colors I want to use yet but it will be from this mix.  Any suggestions?

Put your top on

Just a quick update to yesterday's post.  I added the top piece and all that is left is wood filler, a little sanding, and painting.  Not too shabby for a first timer.

Do it yourself

My TV console is almost done.  Obviously it is still missing the top piece and needs to be painted but I am very happy with the results so far.  I had an original set of plans for this but made some mistakes and modifications along the way.  Funny thing is the notes in the plans indicated this should not be made as your first piece of furniture.

I cut, nailed, screwed, and sanded every piece myself and there is a great sense of accomplishment that comes with hand making something from start to finish.  Now I have a few other ideas floating in my head so when this is done I'm sure I will be on to another project.

There is nothing you cannot DIY.

It's Friday and I'm in love

crochet mushroom
1" hand painted mushroom magnet
mushroom pin cushion

I love mushrooms and it appears they seem to pop up in all my crafts.  Is there a particular theme that just pulls at your heart strings?  I have so many, mushrooms are just one of them.
