New addition

Meet the newest addition to our family.  Belle is a Border Collie/Lab mix we adopted from a rescue here in Florida.  At 8 1/2 weeks she is a whopping 6lbs of adorable puppy love.  She looks pretty big in pictures but in real life she is actually quite small.  She is a bit malnourished and has very little muscle mass.  Believe me we are trying to fatten this little baby up.  She has a pot belly like a little piggie because she has some issues with some puppy parasites that don’t want to go away.  The vet said her immune system is having a hard time fighting the bugs off since her nutrition was lacking.  Hopefully as she puts on weight and gets good food into her body the immune system will catch up and get rid of what she has.  The poor little bit is on quite a few medications at the moment but you couldn’t tell anything is wrong with her because she is the happiest pup!

Please let me introduce little Miss Belle.

On another note I think I messed my blog up big time.  I thought I was logged on under a different ID and set up a new domain name but it looks like I managed to somehow merge this one into the new domain name.
At this point I have no idea how to fix it... Bah!
So I guess has been accidently moved to

for the LOVE of granny stripes

I have been sneaking in a little crochet here and there to keep myself sane.  There is something about the repetitive motion that is calming to me.  Especially these granny stripes that don't require me to stop and look at a pattern.  This teal and grey one was started on Easter Sunday.  I literally sat on my couch all day long and watched every Firefly episode while crocheting.  I felt like a nerdy grandma.  I only got up for food, water, and the bathroom.  It was nice to just be able to sit and relax for a change.

I ran out of the colors I needed to finish the teal and grey so I started a new one that I can work on until I'm restocked on yarn.  I'm not quite sure what I am going to do with all these blankets in the end, I guess I'll figure that out when they are completed.

This one here I finished and gave to a co-worker who is having a baby girl in less than a month.  I forgot to get a good photo of it with my camera so this iphone photo will have to do.

The garden has been growing all spring, even while I had been so busy with work.  The blazing hot Florida sun has been soaking in the leaves and I managed to get the garden watered in the late evenings. Do you see that fat fellow over on the right?  His name is Bernard, he moved in awhile back and has been getting fatter each day feasting on bugs.

The guy has no fear, you can touch him and he just sits there.  When I watered him yesterday he opened up his mouth and was drinking.  It's the little things that entertain I guess.
I have one Japanese eggplant that is growing bigger each day.  Plus I have quite a few new ones sprouting as we speak.
The jalapeno plant that died has magically come back to life and there is even a little tiny pepper sprouting over on the left side.  Do you see it?  I promise it's there!
The herbs I planted from seeds are also doing well.  The one basil plant I put in the regular potting soil seems to be doing much better than the ones in the vegetable garden soil.  I don't know enough about gardening to figure out why.  I'm sure it has something to do with what they mix in.

TGI May!

I'm still alive for anyone that was wondering.  The last month has been beyond draining, I honestly don't know how people can work so much and still have a life.  I had one day off (Easter) during the entire month of April which was bad enough.  The 10-12 hours a day was killer.
